At Arrowhead our food services team works tirelessly to provide everything your camper might need!
They cook, prepare, and serve 3 healthy meals to campers and staff daily and provide many healthy alternatives. All meals are eaten in a homestyle, 9-person table setting in our Dining Hall, so campers and staff can re-fuel and socialize during an action-packed day. Our kitchen staff can accommodate most allergies or dietary restrictions. Learn more below.
Our Camp Chef
Dave Moffat has been the Arrowhead Camp Chef since 2012, bringing with him a healthy and nutritious menu which our campers rave about.
Dave nurtured his love for cooking by learning from his grandmother at a young age. From her he learned the values which he holds with him daily; work ethic, passion, and doing things the right way. He passes on these values to both his own children and the staff who work at Arrowhead.
When Dave started working for Arrowhead Camp back in 2011, he revamped the entire food services program with the goal to integrate the kitchen staff into camp life by also being cabin counsellors, taking part in camp games and activities, and a more integral part of the staff team. Dave aims to cook food that the campers enjoy and to try new dishes so that the menu never becomes repetitive. Outside of camp one of Dave’s favourite meals to cook is stuffed Chicken supreme.
Prior to working at Arrowhead, Dave worked in several kitchens around Muskoka; including managing a restaurant, running the kitchens at 2 resorts, and finally landing at Arrowhead! Dave impacts the camp in many ways outside of the kitchen. By helping with maintenance, mentoring, and staff training, Dave has helped shape the futures of many staff, LIT’s, and campers throughout the many years he has worked at camp.

Allergies and Dietary Requirements
At Arrowhead we can accommodate most allergies and dietary restrictions into our meal plans. During the registration process please outline the specifics to your camper’s dietary restrictions so that our kitchen staff can properly accommodate them.
Arrowhead is a completely nut free camp, and all food ingredients that we serve are carefully screened to ensure no traces of nuts enter camp property. Please refrain from sending your camper any food as we have many campers with allergies.
Birthdays
If your camper’s birthday falls during their stay at Arrowhead you can rest easy knowing it will be celebrated just as it would at home. Campers can expect; cheering, skipping around the dining hall, singing of Happy Birthday, and many well wishes from their peers throughout the day! They will also receive a birthday cake for dessert after dinner!
If you have a quieter camper, and would prefer a different kind of celebration, please let us know and we can orchestrate something they are more comfortable with.
